Old Court Farmhouse
Peachey Dovecotes are a magical mixture of architecture and romance, handcrafted from the finest materials and made to the highest standards. Offering a unique personal service by a master craftsman with over thirty years' experience, each dovecote is designed to complement and enhance the landscape of which it is part.
Gerry Peachey is interested in renewing the centuries-long tradition of keeping pigeons, not only for decoration but also for their culinary virtues. By re-introducing the French Carneau pigeon, he is hoping to revitalise the tradition of a 'living larder', practised by all echelons of society - from Lords of the Manor, with their pigeonniers, culverhouses and dovecotes, to humble innkeepers who used vernacular polecotes for the supply of delicious meat.
